Cambodia Exports Value at US$17 Billion in 9 Months

Cambodia exported more than US$17.52 billion worth of goods in the first three quarters of 2022, up 22.1 percent compared to the same period in 2021, the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE)’s report showed on Monday.
The Kingdom imported US$23.76 billion during the period, an increase by 15.2 percent, the source added.
Cambodia’s international trade in the first nine months was valued at US$41.02 billion, a year-on-year increase of 18 percent.
Cambodian major exported products included garment and textile, machinery and electrical appliances, footwear products, leather goods, grain, furniture, rubber, fruits, vegetables, and so on.
H.E. Penn Sovicheat, Under Secretary of State and Spokesperson at the Ministry of Commerce, attributed the increase in the export of all kinds of goods to the full implementation by Cambodia of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement, which through the 15 markets of the RCEP member countries has absorbed a lot of goods from Cambodia under low tax rates.
The United States was the largest market for Cambodia during the said period by importing up to US$7.04 billion, while Vietnam bought US$1.59 billion worth of Cambodian products, followed by Japan, US$897 million, and China, US$895 million.
