Cambodia Generates 27,921 New Jobs in Q1

In the first quarter of this year, Cambodia generated some 27,921 new jobs for local people, said here this morning Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.

Speaking to ten thousands of supporters during the celebration of the 65th founding anniversary of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), Samdech Techo Hun Sen, also President of CPP, said those new jobs have been created for those in the country and those who travel to work abroad.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen went on to say that the monthly minimum wage of workers, especially in the garment and textile sector rose from US$128 to US$140, while mechanism to discuss about wages for 2017 is underway.

Beside garment, textile and footwear workers, the Royal Government of Cambodia has been paying high attention to the increase of monthly salary of the civil servants and armed forces.
