Cambodia Holds 3rd National Forum to Promote Agro-Business

The 3rd National Forum on “Promoting Policy Enforcement of Cambodia’s Agro-Business” was organised yesterday in Siem Reap province, home to the well-known Angkor temples.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Commerce, the event, presided over by H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, is aimed at boosting local business activities, creating market opportunities, and enhancing better connection between local productions and markets.

H.E. Pan Sorasak raised the importance of stakeholders’ participation in developing an effective mechanism to regulate, innovate, and develop agro-business products to meet the market demands, the growth of rural economy and the flow of tourists in Siem Reap province.

H.E. Minister called the producers, traders, and business associations to actively participate in a consultative workshop in order to learn from market experts and be informed of global market trend, trade development policy, food safety and quality, standard development, and market exploration for products and so on.

This four-day forum displays hundreds of organic vegetables, fruits, and local products from different provinces and features cooking competition show hosted by Cambodia’s Chef Association.

This event is jointly organised by the Ministry of Commerce’s General Directorate of Trade Promotion and the Administration of Siem Reap, as well as the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Rural Development, and the Agrisud and the GRET organisations.
