Cambodia Holds Bird Festival and Nature Expo

The Ministry of Environment in collaboration with other stakeholders organised an event to raise people's awareness on nature and bird life in the country.

The event, "Bird Festival and Nature Expo", was opened last Saturday at the Royal University of Phnom Penh's campus 1, under the presidency of H.E. Srun Darith, Secretary of State for Environment.

Various activities, including photo exhibition of endangered bird species, took place on the occasion.

According to FFI-Cambodia, the Kingdom is one of the most biodiverse countries in Southeast Asia, with as many as 8,260 plant species (10 percent of which may be endemic) along with more than 250 species of amphibian and reptile, 874 fish species and over 500 bird species.
