Cambodia Hosts a Business Dialogue with Bangladesh

Cambodia-Bangladesh Business Dialogue was organised here yesterday by Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) with visiting H.E. Ms. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, as the Guest of Honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Cambodian Minister of Commerce H.E. Pan Sorasak encouraged both countries' chamber of commerce to create more business programmes and dialogues in order to increase cooperation between their young female entrepreneurs and their small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Moreover, H.E. Minister asked the Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC) to strengthen cooperation with the Bangladeshi side on capacity development of skillful labours so as to enhance the value chain of garment industry in Cambodia.

Cambodia Rice Federation was requested to tighten cooperation with Bangladesh to invest in agricultural field and export agricultural products to Bangladesh and the third countries.

According to H.E. Pan Sorasak, Cambodia is considering importing eco-friendly rice sacks, medicines, ceramics, etc. from Bangladesh, and hopes that Bangladesh will consider importing Cambodia's agricultural products like corn, pepper, dried cassava, and cashews in addition to milled rice.

Besides, H.E. Pan Sorasak informed the participants of opportunities, macro-economic situation, business and investment environment, infrastructure projects and main markets of Cambodia in order to attract more investments from Bangladesh.
