Cambodia Hosts a Conception Workshop on Climate Change in Siem Reap Province

The Cambodian Ministry of Environment and other stakeholders hosted a two-day Conception Workshop on Reducing the Vulnerability of Cambodian Rural Livelihoods through Enhanced Sub-national Level on Climate Change Planning and Execution of Priority Actions (SRL project).

The workshop, held on Mar. 27-28, 2017 in Siem Reap province, was opened in the presence of H.E. Tin Ponlok, Secretary General of the National Council for Sustainable Development of Cambodia and Mr. Nick Beresford, UNDP Cambodia Country Director.

H.E. Tin Ponlok said this project will help reducing the vulnerability of rural Cambodians, especially the poor households.

This project will contribute with the Royal Government of Cambodia in responding to the impacts of climate change in 89 communes of 10 districts in Siem Reap and Kampong Thom provinces for four years with an estimated fund of over US$20 million.
