Cambodia, Japan Exchange Notes on Air Services Agreement

Cambodian Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn and H.E. Yuji Kumamaru, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, exchanged here yesterday the Notes on the Agreement between the Kingdom of Cambodia and Japan for Air Services.

According to H.E. Chum Sounry, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFA-IC), H.E. Yuji Kumamaru took the opportunity to convey wishes and congratulations from Japanese foreign minister to H.E. Prak Sokhonn on his appointment as Minister of MFA-IC, as well as his invitation to his Cambodian counterpart to visit Japan in an appropriate time to further tighten and expand the cooperation and friendship between the two countries.

For his part, H.E. Prak Sokhonn expressed his profound thanks to the Japanese government and people for their assistance to the development of Cambodia.

The Exchange of Notes marks the entry into force of the above-mentioned Agreement signed in Phnom Penh on Jan. 14, 2015 between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of Japan, said a press release of MFA-IC.

The entry into force of this Agreement will open way for the two countries to operate direct flights and air transport services, thus contributing importantly to the promotion of economic ties, particularly in tourism sector between the Kingdom of Cambodia and Japan, underlined the press release.
