Cambodia, Japan Sign Exchange of Notes on Japanese Grand Aid

Cambodian Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn and H.E. Yuji Kumamaru, Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia, signed here yesterday the Exchange of Notes on the US$2.9 million Grant Aid for the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship.

Addressing to the signing ceremony, H.E. Prak Sokhonn said this Grant Aid reflects not only the Government of Japan’s continued support to the Royal Government of Cambodia in improving the capacity of human resources, but also the close and fruitful cooperation between both nations that has already reached the level of strategic partnership since 2013.

The Cambodian top diplomat highlighted Japan’s key contribution to the peace building, reconstruction and development of Cambodia. Japan’s assistance has contributed to enhancing various sectors including infrastructure, agriculture, health, education and good governance, he added.

Last year, Japan provided Cambodia with some US$67.45 million in ODA and US$146.6 million in loan to support different development projects, underlined H.E. Prak Sokhonn.
