Cambodia, Korea Discuss Wind and Solar Power

Representatives of the Cambodian Ministry of Mines and Energy and Gwangju province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) have met recently to discuss wind and solar power supply for people living in remote areas in Cambodia in 2017.

Because environment is a main focus, we need to study new project to protect the environment as well as to supply enough energy to people, a senior official at the Ministry of Mines and Energy was quoted as saying by local media.

The wind and solar power will give a lot of benefits to people as it is economical and protects the environment, he continued.

By 2020, Cambodia plans to provide her people with enough energy and by 2030, some 70 percent of the Cambodians would have access to electricity from high quality grid, he added
