Cambodia Launches a Campaign to Distribute 3.4 Million Reflective Stickers for Local Vehicles

Cambodia's Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen launched this morning a national campaign to distribute 3.4 million safety reflective stickers for locally-made vehicles without lighting system so as to contribute to reducing traffic accidents.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of National Road No. 44 in Chbar Mon city of Kampong Speu province, Samdech Techo Hun Sen called on all the working groups in charge of different localities throughout the country to paste the safety reflective stickers on the villagers' walking tractors, ox cart, horse-drawn carriage, etc. without any charge.

From January to June 2016, road accidents killed 919 people and injured 3,309 others. The major causes of traffic accidents are the failure to obey the traffic law, excessive speeding, drink driving, and invisible reflection of locally-made vehicles driving along the road.
