Cambodia Marks 22nd International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples

A group of NGOs in Cambodia organised a ceremony to mark the 22nd International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples in Kampong Speu province, some 45 kilometres west of Phnom Penh capital city.

The celebration was hosted by Indigenous People and Forestry Network (IFPN), member of The NGO Forum on Cambodia, in cooperation with donors, partners, national and international civil society organisations in Cambodia.

This year, there are about more than 300 millions of indigenous peoples from 70 countries throughout the world celebrated the 22nd International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples on special theme "Indigenous Peoples and Education."

The theme focuses on the indigenous peoples' issues to access to the education service, the promotion of appropriate education to indigenous peoples and other facing issues related to indigenous peoples.
