Cambodia Needs More Domestic Technicians

Cambodia still needs more human resources in industrial sector, claimed Minister of Labour and Vocational Training H.E. Ith Samheng.

H.E. Minister made the emphasis recently after presiding over the closing ceremony of the 3rd National Forum on Technical and Vocational Education and Training at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre here in Phnom Penh.

While the job market for technicians in Cambodia is expanding, said H.E. Ith Samheng, we do not have sufficient human resources for it.

Approximately 50,000 Cambodian students are studying to be technicians, according to the figures from the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training.

There are 30 techniques academies in Cambodia, and the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training is supporting 113 technique training centres of them 39 are state-run and the rest are operated by private institutions and non-governmental organisations.
