Cambodia, Nepal Urge for More Trade and Tourism Collaboration

Cambodia and Nepal have urged for more cooperation on trade and tourism sectors between the two countries.
The desire was made in a meeting between Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia and Chair of 43rd AIPA and his visiting Nepalese counterpart H.E. Ganesh Prasad Timilsina here in Phnom Penh on Nov. 22.
H.E. Ganesh Prasad Timilsina expressed thanks to the Cambodian NA for its support for Nepalese Parliament as an observer of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in the 43rd AIPA General Assembly being hosted by Cambodia.
Being an AIPA observer parliament will not only help further strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and Nepal, but also between Nepal and other AIPA member countries, said the Nepalese NA chairman.
He recalled that Cambodia and Nepal have signed a direct flight agreement since 2018, hoping that the agreement will be implemented soon for the interest of the two countries, especially their tourism sector.
Samdech Heng Samrin briefed his guest on the relations between both countries since the establishment of their diplomatic ties in the early 1960s. The relations were interrupted during the Khmer Rouge regime (1975-1979) and resumed since 1999.
The Cambodian NA president also lauded Nepal’s rapid development as well as the good relations and cooperation between the two countries’ governments and leaders.
