Cambodia Nets US$4.4 Billion from Agricultural Product Exports

Cambodia exported over US$4.4 billion worth of agricultural products (excluded rubber) to foreign market in the first eleven months this year, making agriculture remain a strong economic driver during the COVID-19 crisis.
Figures from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries show that from January to November, some 7.1 million tonnes of agricultural products were shipped to 68 foreign markets, a year-on-year increase by 87.5 percent.
Breaking down, some 532,179 tonnes of milled rice were exported during the period, a year-on-year decrease of 11.46 percent, earning nearly US$455 million.
Some 3.1 million tonnes of paddy rice were exported as of November, up about 76 percent compared to that of last year. The paddy rice export netted more than US$546 million.
The non-agricultural product export, 4.6 million tonnes in total, was valued at US$2,990 million, a year-on-year increase of 49.47 percent.

The ministry added that the rubber export as of October this year generated almost US$444 million as income.
