Cambodia, New Zealand Sign MoU on Agricultural Cooperation

A memorandum of understanding on agricultural cooperation between Cambodia and New Zealand was signed here early this week at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF).
The signing ceremony took place under the presidency of H.E. Veng Sakhon, Minister of MAFF and H.E. Ben King, outgoing Ambassador of New Zealand to Cambodia.
According to the MAFF’s news release, the MoU’s goal is to promote local agricultural productivity, boost local products, increase income and employment opportunities, and improve food safety.
This five-year MoU worth NZD 6,475 million focuses on the strengthening the capacity of relevant officials and private sector in growing safe and good quality vegetable for local supply in order to reduce the import.
