Cambodia Not to Say “No” to COVID-19 Vaccine Donations

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen said Cambodia will accept all assistance in vaccines against the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the inauguration ceremony of Cambodia-China Friendship Medical Building located in the Cambodia-China Friendship Kossamak Hospital in Phnom Penh this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said despite its high COVID-19 vaccination rate, Cambodia still needs more vaccines to ensure enough vaccines for the people.
“To build the herd immunity, Cambodia will not say ‘no’ to the assistance in vaccines against COVID-19,” he underlined.
Cambodia will receive at least 5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from China at the end of this month, then there would be some more from Italy and Poland, etc., he added.
The Premier also urged the National Ad-hoc Commission for COVID-19 Vaccination to prepare vaccination rolling plan for the children who nearly reach the age of 3 years old.
With the newly-arrived 139,200 doses of Pfizer vaccine under the COVID-19 ASEAN Response Fund, Cambodia has received in total over 44.75 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines both through purchases and donations via bilateral and COVAX mechanism.
The number includes 29,424,800 doses of Sinovac, 7,800,000 doses of Sinopharm, 3,784,500 doses of AstraZeneca, 2,489,730 doses of Pfizer, 1,064,600 doses of Johnson & Johnson, and 188,160 doses of Moderna.
