Cambodia Observes World Ranger Day

Cambodia has lately observed the World Ranger Day in order to appreciate sacrifice of Cambodian rangers in preserving wild lives as well as natural resources.

The special observance was highlighted with detailed description of the challenging tasks of Cambodian rangers on Ministry of Environment’s official Facebook page.

Ministry of Environment considers the rangers as well as local and armed authorities who contribute to conservation of the wild as heroes, working so hard to ensure ecological balance at Cambodia’s precious parks and forests.

To date, Ministry of Environment has deployed around 1,200 rangers to protect natural resources of 7.5 million hectares of land surface.

They have protected and rescued thousands of wild animals, an intervened many cases of illegal logging.

Globally, July 31st was recognised as the World Ranger Day since 2007.
