Cambodia, Pakistan Agree to Boost Mutual Tourism Promotion

The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan have agreed to promote the tourism sector between the two countries.
The agreement was made in a meeting here on Mar. 30 between H.E. Thong Khon, Tourism Minister and H.E. Zaheeruddin Babar Thaheem, newly appointed Ambassador of Pakistan to Cambodia.
In the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to promote the safe and potential tourism destinations of both nations so that their peoples can exchange visits, especially the growth of tourism in the post-COVID-19 period.
The two countries are working to have a MoU on Tourism Sector Cooperation.
For his part, H.E. Zaheeruddin Babar Thaheem said that during his diplomatic mission in Cambodia, his first task is to promote the bilateral tourism cooperation.
Last year, Cambodia received 1,125 Pakistani tourists, a year-on-year drop of 91 percent.
