Cambodia Preparing Regulations to Control Drone

Cambodia is studying and preparing regulations to control drone, Deputy Director and Spokesperson of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation Mr. Sin Chan Sereivutha told AKP Wednesday.

Drone is a new issue for Cambodia and until now, the country has had no law to control it yet, he underlined.

Cambodia allows drone use, but users are not allowed to fly drone over people or large crowds, over airports or in areas where aircraft are operating, and in other areas such as the Royal Palace, the Prime Minister's residence, military areas, etc.

Those who fly drone in the forbidden areas to intentionally collect national confidential information will be guilty of criminal act, said Mr. Dim Sokheng, Chairman of CIA Law Firm.

While experts were studying and drafting regulations about drone, people should be alert not to fly it in the prohibited areas, said Mr. Sin Chan Sereivutha.
