Cambodia, Qatar to Promote Bilateral Cooperation

AKP Phnom Penh, August 03, 2022 — Cambodia and the State of Qatar were committed to further enhance more bilateral cooperation in terms of economy, tourism, and investment.

The commitment was made in the courtesy meeting here this afternoon between Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and visiting H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, according to H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister.

In the meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed warm welcome to H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani’s visit in Cambodia, stressing that it will further enhance the bilateral cooperation between Cambodia and Qatar as well as between ASEAN and Qatar.

The Cambodian Premier also spoke highly of H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani’s participation in the 55th ASEAN Foreign Minister’s Meeting (55th AMM) and Related Meetings in Phnom Penh, especially the signing of the Instrument of Accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) by the State of Qatar.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also wished the State of Qatar success in hosting the World Cup 2022 at the end of this year.

For his part, H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani appreciated Cambodia for the hosting of the 55th AMM and Related Meetings. Both nations will look forward to more potential bilateral cooperation in terms of economy, tourism and investment in addition to the education sector, he added.
