Cambodia Receives 8 ASEAN Community-based Tourism and Homestay Standards Awards

ASEAN Tourism Ministers handed over late last week the ASEAN Homestay Standards Awards to five Cambodian homestay providers, and Community-based Tourism Awards to three Cambodian communities, according to the Ministry of Tourism’s news release.

Those five winning homestay providers are Khmer Homestay in Kampong Thom province, Sim Him in Kampot province, Kong Say in Kampong Speu province, Seang Channa in Siem Reap province, and Ear Sothy in Koh Kong province; while the three community-based tourism sites include Chiphat in Koh Kong, Koh Trung in Kratie, and Chambak in Kampong Speu.

In total, 28 homestay providers and 26 community-based tourism sites in the ASEAN member countries won the awards.

Cambodia has been working hard to promote the cultural tourism and ecotourism in the country.
