Cambodia Requests Japan to Share Experience on Bamboo Recycling

Since Japan has a lot of needs in the use of bamboo chopsticks, tablecloths and boxes while Cambodia is rich of bamboo, Cambodia requested Japan to dispatch her specialists to Cambodia in order to share experience on bamboo recycling for local use and export to Japan.

The request was made by Cambodian Minister of Commerce H.E. Pan Sorasak while meeting with Mr. Koji Okamura, President of Young Entrepreneur of Japan (YEJ), at the ministry office early this week.

After the introduction of Cambodia's potential, YEJ showed its interest to invest in agro-industry and microfinance sectors in Cambodia, said H.E. Minister.

H.E. Pan Sorasak also requested YEJ to study the possibility of creating factory in Cambodia because Japan is a high technology country in LED installation with solar power, so that Cambodian people are able to have many job opportunities and learn more about new technology to develop Cambodia.

In reply, Mr. Koji Okamura lauded Cambodia's good investment environment, and pledged to study the Cambodian minister's request and he will give a reply soon.
