Cambodia Seeks Japan Technical Infrastructure Cooperation

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has sought cooperation with Japan in technical infrastructure cooperation.

The intention was raised by H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Minister of Public Works and Transport in a meeting with H.E. Mikami Massahiro, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia on Wednesday in Phnom Penh.

The ministry is building human resources in road construction technical skill and physical infrastructure development, so the support from Japan will bring the endeavour to a new level, added the senior minister.

H.E. Sun Chanthol also briefed the Japanese diplomat about the purpose of establishing Techo Sen Institute of Public Works and Transport to equip next generations of Cambodians with needful technical skills to build quality road infrastructure.

He also encouraged the Japanese ambassador to consider the possibility of a cooperative agreement between Japanese faculties or universities with the Techo Sen Institute of Public Works and Transport.

H.E. Mikami Massahiro appreciated the leadership of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport for advancement of physical infrastructure in Cambodia, and hoped to consider the recommendations by the senior minister.
