Cambodia, Singapore Sign MoU on Sports Sector Development

The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) reached a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Singapore National Olympic Council, aiming at enhancing Cambodia's sports sector and getting prepared for the 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in 2023.

The MoU was inked by H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism and Chairman of NOCC, and H.E. Tan Chuan-Jin, President of Singapore National Olympic Council on Nov. 27, 2017 in Singapore.

Under the MoU, Singapore will help building the capacity of Cambodian athletes and share experience on management and organisation of big sports events as well as fight against doping in sport.

Cambodia is preparing to host the 32nd SEA Games in Phnom Penh capital city and in some provinces including Kampot, Kep, Takeo, Siem Reap, Battambang and Kampong Cham from Dec. 1 to 15, 2023. The two-week-long event is expected to attract about 10,000 delegates, of them 7,000 are athletes.
