Cambodia Speaks Highly Bilateral Military Cooperation with Vietnam

Cambodia and Vietnam have appreciated their bilateral cooperation, especially in the military sector.
The appreciation was made in a meeting via videoconference this morning between H.E. Gen. Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), and H.E. Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Deputy Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the Vietnamese People’s Army.
H.E. Gen. Vong Pisen and his Vietnamese counterpart also exchanged views on the armed forces’ active support for the government in the fight against COVID-19.
Both sides also recalled the cooperation between both countries’ armies in the past and were committed to further boost the cooperation, especially in disaster rescue, and the exchange of visit after the COVID-19 situation eases.
As RCAF will chair the 19th ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces’ Meeting (ACDFM-19), H.E. Gen. Vong Pisen invited his counterpart to physically join the meeting to be held in March in Phnom Penh.
