Cambodia-Thailand Hold 19th Regional Border Committees Meeting

Cambodia and Thailand held the 19th Regional Border Committees Meeting on May 30-31 in Siem Reap province, home to the famous Angkor temples.

The meeting was chaired by Gen. Chea Mon, Deputy Commander of Royal Cambodian Army and Commander of the 4th Military Region, and his Thai counterpart of the 2nd Military Region; with the participation of many Cambodian and Thai military officials and provincial governors.

On the occasion, both sides agreed on cooperation in land border post demarcation, border security, and in other fields; and on 18 other points including cross-border gate, cross-border travel, labor sector cooperation, cross-border drug trafficking prevention, fight against cross-border crimes, prevention and crackdown on terrorism, mine clearance cooperation, illegal logging prevention, and promotion of agricultural, trade, tourism, environmental, cultural and religious cooperation, and so on.

The 20th Regional Border Committees Meeting will take place in Thailand.
