Cambodia, Thailand Join Hands for Power Transmission and Network at Poipet SEZ

Cambodia and Thailand joined hands to develop power transmission network and supply at Cambodia’s Poipet Special Economic Zone (SEZ) adjacent to the border between the two countries with an investment amount of US$2-3 million.

Chairwoman of Poipet PPSEZ Co., Ltd. Oknha Lim Chhiv Ho represented Cambodia to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Thai counterpart Ms. Preeyanart Soontornwata, President of B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited of Thailand, in Phnom Penh on Feb. 20.

Under the signed agreement, the two sides will formulate a technical team to conduct feasibility study for the development of power transmission network and supply.

According to Oknha Lim Chhiv Ho, the collaboration will mutually benefit both Cambodia and Thailand and consequently contributing to the countries’ economic growth.
