Cambodia Thoroughly Investigating Illegal Arms Traffic Through the Country

Cambodia has condemned illegal weapon trafficking lately through the country and pledged to make thorough investigation into the case.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng touched on the issue when officially announcing new governor of Koh Kong province.

According to the DPM, Thai authorities had earlier found 29 rifles, four machine guns, a number of grenades and bullets loaded in a pick-up and arrested two Thai and Cambodian men at Trat province of the country.

Based on an initial investigation result, said Samdech Sar Kheng, the weapons were illegally trafficked through Koh Kong province of Cambodia.

Samdech Sar Kheng ordered his line authority to carefully work with their counterparts in Thailand as well as other concerned countries in order to identify the roots source of the arms traffic.
