Cambodia To Adapt Its Education to Global Digital Trend

Cambodia is ready to adapt its educational sector to the global digital trend, said Monday H.E. Ngoun Nhel, First Vice President of the National Assembly (NA).

H.E. Ngoun Nhel made the affirmation in a workshop on evolution of educational sector in digital context in the global and Cambodian frameworks, co-organised by the NA Commission on Education, Youth, Sports, Cults, Religious Affairs, Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS).

The workshop was meant as a consultation platform to share experience, knowledge and concept on education development in Cambodia in response to the national and global progress in the current technological advancement.

The first NA vice president said that the workshop was a timely platform for all stakeholders to discuss new ways to support students, teachers, and educational staff to expose to new ideas, to pay double attention to human resource development, and to adapt the country’s educational system to global digital trend.

H.E. Ngoun Nhel added that today’s rapid development in technology and information technology had drastically influenced socio-economic infrastructure and daily lifestyles.

Experiences from developed countries featured subsequent reforms in educational sector to follow economic development, and Cambodia, as he confirmed, was no different and was ready to take up this step.
