Cambodia To Attend the Asia Cross Country Rally 2016 in Thailand

Cambodia will dispatch a race car and two race motorbikes to participate in the Asia Cross Country Rally 2016 to be held from Aug. 13 to 19, Mr. Ho Sithykun, Vice President of Cambodian Vehicle Federation, said in a press conference here on Aug. 9.

The rally, the 21st of its kind, will begin from Pattaya, Thailand and end in Siem Reap province, Cambodia by crossing Chanthaburi province of Thailand, then Koh Kong and Preah Sihanouk provinces and Phnom Penh capital city of Cambodia, he pointed out.

Racers from Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and India will join the 2,400 kilometre race, with a total of 24 race cars and 45 race motorbikes, added Mr. Ho Sithykun.

This is the fourth time that Cambodia takes part in the rally since its establishment in 1996.

Held annually in August, the Asia Cross Country Rally is aimed to promote international goodwill and friendship among countries in Asia. The rally is run through mountainous terrain, jungles, coastal areas, plantation lands, and a race car circuit.
