Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has announced the Royal Government’s decision to build another bridge across Tonle Sap River and an over-57-kilometre-long road to link Kampong Chhnang province to Kampong Thom province.

Addressing to the opening ceremony of the 5th River Festival held in Kampong Chhnang province yesterday evening under the theme River: Connecting Peace, People and Tourism, this planned bridge of 3,900 kilometres long will be the longest bridge in Cambodia.

The bridge will cross three river arms, including Tonle Sap Krom, Chroy Bos and Kampong Hav, added the Premier.

For the road, he pointed out, it will connect Kampong Leng distrit of Kampong Chhnang province to Stung Sen city of Kampong Thom province.

The construction project would cost more than US$200 million.
