Cambodia to Celebrate Book Day Next Week

Cambodia Book Day will be held from April. 6 to 10 at Morodok Techo National Stadium, expecting to attract some 10,000 visitors.
According to the organiser, the upcoming event is part of the World Book Day, established by UNESCO on April 23, 1995 and more than 100 countries around the world take part in the campaign.
The Khmer Writers Association will lead the organisation of the event in cooperation with partners and stakeholders.
This year’s Cambodia Book Day will feature 48 booths of publishing houses, bookstores, online bookstores, libraries, authors, publishers, distributors, associations, arts and culture institutions, and so on.
There will also be a campaign to distribute about 1,000 books and a discount of up to 70 percent to help promote reading, especially for those who cannot afford to buy books.
Civil servants, students, businessmen … and the general public are expected to join the event to mark the significance of reading, especially in the COVID-19 context.
