Cambodia to Create More Tourism Products in Siem Reap

To attract more tourists and make them stay longer, Cambodia is planning to create more tourism products in Siem Reap province, home to the well-known Angkor temples.

Creation of new tourism products is part of Siem Reap tourism development master plan boosted by H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism in a recent workshop in the cultural province.

The number of foreign visitors may decrease if we do not create new products because they may come here not only for Angkor Wat and other ancient temples, but also for eco- and agro-tourism destinations, close to Angkor area, explained H.E. Minister.

Angkor surrounding areas, Phnom Koulen, Tonle Sap River and other potential areas will be developed to become attractive tourist attractions, he underlined.

According to the tourism minister, the number of foreign tourists visiting Siem Reap province saw an increase every year. Last year, among the 5 million visitors recorded in the cultural province, some 2.5 million were international tourists.
