Cambodia To Create Water Data Centre

Cambodia is planning to create a water data centre with high capacity and smart technology, for water management across the nation, according to a news release of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM).

The creation of water data centre is part of the national investment programme on irrigation system and water resource management 2019-2033, it pointed out.

The main advantage of the centre’s establishment is to manage effectively and sustainably the five river basins and 39 sub-river basins, especially to distribute with equity and development the water for humans, animals and agriculture and for the sustainability of ecotourism in the areas surrounding the Tonle Sap River and along the Mekong River, it added.

The national investment programme on irrigation system and water resource management 2019-2033 was discussed here yesterday in an inter-ministerial meeting chaired by Minister of MOWRAM H.E. Lim Kean Hor, with participation of representatives from relevant ministries, development partners and other stakeholders.

The purpose of the meeting was to collect more inputs for the national investment programme to be more comprehensive in contribution to the economic development of Cambodia.
