Cambodia To Have Government Spokesperson Unit

Royal Government of Cambodia is formulating a unit for government spokespersons to ensure effective and consistent official information sharing.

Government’s decision to form the coordination unit has been signed recently by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.

The body will play a crucial role in further promoting transparency and right to information as well as sovereignty of Cambodia.

According to the decision, the government spokesperson unit consists of one president, one permanent vice president, three vice presidents, and 25 members.

A delegate minister attached to Prime Minister is the president of the unit, while spokespersons from the Council of Ministers, and Ministries of Interior, National Defence, and Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation are the permanent vice president and vice presidents, respectively.

The unit’s members are the spokespersons at other ministries and the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation.
