Cambodia To Hold 5th National Forum on Inclusive Education

With the support from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, a group of NGOs will jointly organise the Fifth National Forum on Inclusive Education under the theme "A vision of quality Inclusive Education", at Phnom Penh Hotel, on Dec. 8.

According to a joint press release, this group of NGOs is comprised of NGO Education Partnership (NEP), Krousar Thmey, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Handicap International (HI), Association for Aid and Relief, Japan (AAR Japan), Save the Children (SC), Rabbit School Organisation (RSO), The Fred Hollows Foundation (FHF), Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) and Aide et Action (AeA).

The objective of the forum is to share the gaps in service provision for children with disabilities and understand the mandate of the newly established Special Education Department of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

The Forum will also strengthen links between the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, International and National NGOs, as well as the government and Development Partners (international donors, UN agencies) for an improved and a coordinated effort to ensure that children with disabilities' right to access quality education is met.
