Cambodia To Host Global Youth Summit

Over 300 youths from Asia Pacific will gather in Siem Reap province for the Second Final Series of Actions For Earth � Global Youth Summit (GYS) Cambodia 2017 tomorrow, according to a press release AKP received here yesterday.

This special youth event will be held under the theme Biodiversity and Waste Management, aiming to empower young people, aged 11 to 21 from ASEAN under the guidance of environmentalists, educators, entrepreneurs and researchers to collaborate locally and globally to plan and implement innovative initiatives to protect the natural environment and overcome waste.

The event kicks off with environmental talks and presentations on Biodiversity and Conservation, and Environment Protection by esteemed speakers and presentation by past GYS winners on their projects with a MoU Signing Ceremony for the next host country, Singapore.

This programme was inaugurated by H.E. Say Samal, Minister of Environment in Phnom Penh on Jan. 11, 2017.

Actions for Earth � Global Youth Summit, organised by Hemispheres Foundation, a Singapore-based non-profit social enterprise and the Department of Environment Education, Ministry of Environment of Cambodia, will take place until Aug. 5, 2017.

The Summit is supported by the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Pannasastra University of Cambodia (Siem Reap Campus), Wat Bo Primary School, Singapore Building and Construction Authority, Angkor Foundation and Empress Hospitality Group.
