Cambodia To Host UN Peacekeeping Training for 2022-2023

Cambodia will host a trilateral heavy sized engineering training course for peacekeeping operations (PKO) in 2022-2023.

The update was shared by H.E. Gen. Sem Sovanny, Director General of the National Centre for Peacekeeping Forces, Mines and Remnants of War Clearance (NPMEC), with the local media following his participation in a recent UN seminar in New York.

With the role as a host, Cambodia expects that its troop will gain more knowledge, experience, and skills necessary for effective peacekeeping operations under United Nations umbrella.

Similar capacity building exercise, added the director general, was hosted by Vietnam for the 2018-2019 time frame, before Thailand for 2019-2020, and Indonesia for 2020-2021.
