Cambodia To Launch Trade Center in China’s Shaanxi Province

H.E. Pan Sorasak, Cambodian Minister of Commerce, held talks with H.E. Hu Heping, Governor of China's Shaanxi province, on Jan. 5 in Xi'an of Shaanxi on the strengthening of trade, culture and tourism relations between both countries.

According to the Ministry of Commerce's news release, the launch of Cambodia's new trade centre in Xi'an and the increase of trade volume up to US$5 billion by this year were topics of the meeting.

On the occasion, H.E. Minister thanked H.E. Hu Heping and the Government of China for the support in establishing the trade centre, hoping that it will help promote Cambodian exports and attract Chinese visitors and investors to the Kingdom.

In November last year, Cambodia officially launched a trade centre in Haining, China's province of Zhejiang to promote culture and diversify the export of Cambodian products to the Chinese markets. The country is also working to establish three more trade centres in three different Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

In 2015, the bilateral trade between Cambodia and China was US$4.43 billion, and the two countries were committed to boost it up to US$5 billion in 2017.
