Cambodia To Mark International Day of Yoga at Main Tourism Destinations

Cambodia will celebrate the International Day of Yoga in the capital city of Phnom Penh, Siem Reap cultural province and Preah Sihanouk coastal province to attract more international tourists.

Speaking at a press conference at the Embassy of India in Cambodia yesterday, H.E. So Visothy, Under Secretary of State for the Ministry of Tourism, expressed his strong hope that the country will attract more foreign visitors, especially the Indian ones, thanks to this upcoming event.

According to H.E. So Visothy, the celebration of International Yoga Day will be held in front of Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap province on June 14 and at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh and Sokha beach in Preah Sihanouk province on June 17.

Mr. Rajiv Kumar, Second Secretary of the Embassy of India in Cambodia, said yoga has been recognised by the United Nations for its benefits to health for both young and old people. That's why India intends to disseminate yoga in the world, he added.
