Cambodia To Participate in 2017 Francophone Games in Ivory Coast

Cambodia will dispatch a 25-member delegation to Ivory Coast to take part in the 8th Francophone Games scheduled to be held in Abidjan from July 21 to 30, 2017, H.E. Bou Chumserey, Under Secretary of State for Education, Youth and Sports, told local media recently.

For sporting events, he pointed out, Cambodia will participate in wrestling, judo, athletics and table tennis, and in sculpture, painting, photography and creative dance for cultural events.

According to H.E. Bou Chumserey, Cambodia has so far won three bronze medals from the Francophone Games, of which two from boxing in Canada in 2001 and in France in 2013, and another one from sculpture in 2013 in France.

The Francophone Games are a multisport and cultural competitions for French-speaking nations.
