Cambodia, U.S. Pledge to Further Cooperation

The Royal Government of Cambodia and the United States of America have pledged further bilateral cooperation as they lauded remarkable progress in their relationship.
The pledge were made in a meeting between Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA) and H.E. Patrick Murphy, U.S. Ambassador to Cambodia, held here at the NA Palace on Oct. 28.
In the meeting, Samdech Heng Samrin spoke highly of H.E. Patrick Murphy’s diplomatic mission which brought about strengthened cooperation in all sectors between the two countries.
The relationship between both countries and peoples, which turns 70 years old, will be fostered with fruitful results, he said.
The NA president also expressed thanks to the U.S. government for its assistance to Cambodia on the sectors of health, education, environment, culture, agriculture, and mine clearance, particularly in the fight against COVID-19.
For his part, H.E. Patrick Murphy congratulated Cambodia on the COVID-19 vaccination achievement, which leads to the reopening of social-economic activities. He recalled the U.S.’ active contribution to the Cambodian health sector, especially during this COVID-19 spread by providing more than 1 million doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine to Cambodia.
