Cambodia, U.S. to Strengthen Business and Trade Ties

The Kingdom of Cambodia and the United States of America have been committed to boost their business and trade ties.

This was the spirit of the meeting here on Tuesday between Cambodian Minister of Commerce H.E. Pan Sorasak and visiting Mr. John Goyer, Executive Director of Southeast Asia at U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

On the occasion, Mr. John Goyer informed H.E. Minister of the outcome of the meeting between American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Cambodia and U.S. Chamber of Commerce during which both sides shared the same idea that it was time to strengthen the business and trade bond between the two countries.

H.E. Pan Sorasak suggested the American investors to conduct field visit to Cambodia. He explained that investing in Cambodia is not only in the country, but also in the whole ASEAN as Cambodia is located in the centre of ASEAN, a favourable location for production to supply regional supply chain, and with the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership to be finalised soon, the market will become very wide.

The minister also suggested the strengthening of dialogue between U.S. business association and the Royal Government by creating annual discussion mechanism to solve technical problems. Moreover, he added, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce can also join the Government-Private Sector Forum under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.
