Cambodia, Vietnam Agree to Foster Bilateral Cooperation

The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam have agreed to further strengthen and expand the friendship and cooperation between both neighbouring countries, mainly in the field of economy.
The agreement was made between Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and his visiting Vietnamese counterpart H.E. Pham Minh Chinh, during their bilateral talks at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this morning, according to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Personal Assistant to the Cambodian Premier.
The two nations will continue to exchange high-level visits as well as those between their youths and peoples, promote their economic connectivity, both hard and soft, boost cross-border trade and open more border crossings for goods imports-exports, he added.
Both leaders also agreed to promote land, sea and air connectivity by establishing direct flights from major provinces or cities between the two countries, as well as digital cooperation, the personal assistant underlined.
Following their bilateral meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and H.E. Pham Minh Chinh witnessed the signing ceremony of 11 documents of bilateral cooperation.
The 11 signed documents cover particularly the areas of land transport; agricultural cooperation; border trade; commerce; TV and radio cooperation; telecom, ICT, and digital transformation; labour; financial innovation and payment system; and so on.
A high-level Vietnamese delegation led by Prime Minister H.E. Pham Minh Chinh arrived in Phnom Penh this morning for a two-day official visit and for the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits this week.
