Cambodia, Vietnam Vow to Foster Bilateral Cooperation in Information Area

AKP Hanoi, The Ministries of Information of Cambodia and Vietnam have been committed to further tighten and expand their relations and cooperation for the benefits of the two peoples and nations.

The commitment was made by Cambodian Minister of Information H.E. Khieu Kanharith and H.E. Truong Minh Tuan, Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications, during their bilateral talks in Hanoi, Vietnam this morning.

Both ministers updated each other on the current media situation in their respective countries and the tasks and responsibilities of their respective ministries.

The meeting also touched upon social media management, which is a concern not only for Cambodia and Vietnam, but also for other countries around the world.

On the same day, in the afternoon, H.E. Khieu Kanharith met with H.E. Nguyen The Ky, President of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV). The talks focused mainly on capacity building of officials of the National Radio of Kampuchea (RNK) in order to expand the RNK's broadcast in Vietnamese from 15 to 30 minutes a day, and social media management.

After the meeting, both H.E. Khieu Kanharith and H.E. Nguyen The Ky witnessed the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between RNK and VOV.

The high-level delegation of the Cambodian Ministry of Information led by its Minister H.E. Khieu Kanharith and his spouse arrived in Hanoi yesterday for a working visit in Vietnam until Dec. 25.

Cambodia and Vietnam have been organising various activities to commemorate the establishment of their diplomatic ties which reach this year their 50th anniversary.
