Cambodian, Chinese Commerce Ministers Hold Bilateral Talks

Cambodian Minister of Commerce H.E. Pan Sorasak met with his visiting Chinese counterpart H.E. Gao Hucheng, at the ministry office, Phnom Penh yesterday.

According to the Ministry of Commerce’s news release, the meeting mainly focused on strengthening bilateral trade, including duty free quota free treatment, rice trade, export of agriculture products to China, organisation of trade and investment forum in China to promote investment to Cambodia and technical assistance to be provided by China to Cambodia.

In the bilateral meeting, the two commerce ministers underscored the 18 percent increase in Cambodia-China trade volume, and reaffirmed that Cambodia and China shall do more in favor of attracting investment to Cambodia and open Chinese markets for more Cambodian products in the near future.

Cambodia is China’s strategic trading partner under One Belt One Road Initiative and under ASEAN-China Framework, stressed H.E. Gao Hucheng.

Both sides agreed to review outcome of bilateral trade cooperation every year.
