Cambodian Commerce Minister Meets New Tianjin Mayor

Minister of Commerce of Cambodia H.E. Pan Sorasak held talks with newly appointed Mayer of Tianjin Municipality H.E. Zhang Guoqing, on Tuesday as part of his visit to this Chinese port city to discuss ways to boost trade and strengthen cooperation on some other sectors.

According to the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, during the meeting, H.E. Zhang Guoqing recalled the historical relations between both countries and thanked Cambodia for always supporting China's policy both in region and in the world.

For his part, H.E. Pan Sorasak briefed the Chinese side on the progress of Cambodia in all sectors thanks to security and political stability and requested China to buy the country's potential agricultural products, namely cassava, corn, banana, milled rice, cashew nut, longan and so on, as well as sought cooperation in human resource training.

Both sides also agreed with the cooperation between Sihanoukville Autonomous Port and Port of Tianjin.

Today, four Cambodian companies have been doing business in Tianjin while 16 Tianjin companies have been investing in Cambodia with a total capital investment of over US$800 million.
