Cambodian Commerce Minister Urges American Businessmen to Invest in Processing of Agricultural Products

H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce of Cambodia, has encouraged U.S. businessmen to invest in processing and development of value chains of Cambodian agricultural products to supply both local and international markets.

While receiving here yesterday a visiting delegation of U.S. businessmen led by Mr. Norman Arikawa, Assistant Director of Trade Development at Port of Los Angeles, H.E. Pan Sorasak laid stress on the potential of Cambodian agricultural sector and manufacturing, and underlined the need for investments in the processing of those products.

H.E. Minister also raised the Royal Government of Cambodia's efforts to attract investors through implementation of in-deep reform, best open and investment policies in the region, together with continuation of new infrastructure construction like airports, international sea ports, special economic zones, expressways and railroads to foster trade facilitation and tourism promotion, and the like.

For his part, Mr. Norman Arikawa congratulated Cambodia's progress and economic growth and thanked H.E. Minister for sharing information about the Royal Government's policies and investment opportunities in key sectors in the country. He also pledged to disseminate Cambodia's potentials to the Port of Los Angeles to encourage more American businessmen to invest in the Kingdom.
