Cambodian Delegation Attends COP24 in Poland

A Cambodian inter-ministerial delegation led by H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Secretary of State for Environment, has been in Poland to attend the 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP24) being held in Katowice from Dec. 2-14, 2018.

H.E. Eang Sophalleth is scheduled to attend many important meetings including Resumed High Level Meeting during which he will deliver a speech reaffirming Cambodia's stance in conformity with the Royal Government's policies, strategies, national development plan and statements on climate change, as well as the common position of the least developed countries, pointed out the Cambodian Ministry of Environment.

According to the COP24-Katowice 2018's online source, the conference, organised in accordance with the environmental policy of respective government, is a huge venture which many parties are involved in, bringing together hundreds of people working for the final success.

This event attracted some 30.000 participants from all over the world. COP24 will generate a carbon footprint of 55,000 tonnes of CO2. To balance this emission, the State Forests will additionally plant more than 6 million trees.
