Cambodian Foreign Minister To Attend ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Singapore

Cambodia’s Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn will lead a delegation to attend the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings from July 30 to Aug. 4, 2018 in the Republic of Singapore.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Prak Sokhonn’s participation in the forthcoming regional meeting will be made at the invitation of H.E. Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore.

The Cambodian top diplomat will take part in Meeting of the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon-Free Zone (SEANWFZ) Commission; the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Interface with the Representatives of the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR), the 51st ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (51st AMM); the Post Ministerial Conferences (PMCs); the 19th ASEAN Plus Three Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (19th APT FMM); the 8th East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (8th EAS FMM), and the 25th ASEAN Regional Forum (25th ARF).

The 51st AMM and Related Meetings held under the theme Resilient and Innovative ASEAN” will reflect ASEAN’s strong commitment in accelerating the ASEAN Community building process and in preserving its relevancy as the trusted regional body in the maintenance and promotion of peace, stability and prosperity.

It is worth noting that as Country Coordinator of the ASEAN-Republic of Korea (RoK) Dialogue Relations, H.E. Senior Minister will co-chair with H.E. Ms. Kang Kyung-wha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of RoK, the Post Ministerial Conference+1 with the RoK.

On the sidelines of the ASEAN Ministers’ Meeting, H.E. Senior Minister will also attend the Mekong-Japan Ministerial Meeting; the Mekong-Ganga Cooperation Ministerial Meeting; the Lower Mekong Initiative Ministerial Meeting; and the Mekong-RoK Ministerial Meeting.

H.E. Prak Sokhonn, together with other ASEAN Foreign Ministers will pay a courtesy call on H.E. Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Singapore and hold bilateral meetings with a number of other heads of delegations.
